Please include your store's myshopify.com address, the vendor name and the order or payout batch number. Do not send customer personal data, bank account numbers or Stripe keys.
Getting started
1. Install Vendor Tally and open it in the Shopify admin. 2. Vendors: add each vendor with its commission (percent or per item), shipping and tax rules, hold period, payout method and currency. Enter the value of the Shopify product "Vendor" field that belongs to the vendor. 3. Products: click Match by Shopify vendor field and approve the suggestions, or assign products (or single variants) by hand. Each assignment is saved in the product's metafield. 4. Overview: click Sync products and orders to read the last 60 days of orders. New orders, fulfillments and refunds arrive by webhook. 5. Payouts: choose a cutoff date and create a batch. Download the bank CSV (and the entries behind it), or send the Stripe items with Stripe Connect (Pro). Then mark the batch as paid. 6. Optional (Growth and Pro): on a vendor's page, create a portal link and send it to the vendor.
Frequent questions
- Why is a sale not in the payout? It is still in the vendor's hold period, or the vendor's terms require the line to be fulfilled first. The payout preview shows the held amount per vendor.
- A customer was refunded after I paid the vendor. Vendor Tally posts the refund (and returns the commission if the vendor's terms say so) as new ledger entries. They are deducted from the next payout.
- Why "No vendor" on an order line? The product has no approved vendor assignment. Assign it on the Products page and re-read the order.
- Stripe says "insufficient funds". Transfers come from your Stripe balance; Shopify Payments payouts go to your bank, not to Stripe. Add funds (Stripe top-up) and send again.
- Paying a vendor in another currency: enter the rate in Settings (for example
EUR=0.92). Each payout stores the rate it used. - Older orders: Shopify gives apps the last 60 days of orders. Post older balances as an adjustment on the vendor's page.
